How the New U.S. Tariffs Affect TUTT and Our Customers - TUTT

How the New U.S. Tariffs Affect TUTT and Our Customers

At TUTT, Canada’s Electronics Store, we are committed to keeping our customers informed about key industry changes that may impact pricing, shipping, and availability. On February 1, 2025, the U.S. administration announced a 25% tariff on most goods imported from Canada and Mexico, effective February 4, 2025. This new policy aims to address the flow of illicit drugs across the U.S. national border but has significant implications for cross-border businesses like ours.

What This Means for TUTT and Our Customers

TUTT has always prioritized offering high-quality consumer electronics, smartwatches, drones, and appliances at competitive prices. However, these new tariffs could introduce increased costs and logistical challenges for shipments to the U.S.

Here’s what we know so far:

1. 25% Tariff on Most Canadian Imports

Any TUTT products shipped to the U.S. will now be subject to a 25% tariff at the border.

This applies to most electronics, gadgets, and accessories we sell.

2. Section 321 Exemption Changes

The Section 321 de minimis exemption, which allowed duty-free entry for shipments under $800 USD, will no longer apply to certain tariffed products.

This exemption was previously a key advantage for small cross-border orders.

3. Possible Price Adjustments

We are currently analyzing how these tariffs will impact our pricing strategy for U.S. customers.

Our goal is to keep prices as competitive as possible while maintaining quality and service.

4. Potential Shipping Delays and New Documentation Requirements

The enforcement of these tariffs is expected to be immediate, which may cause delays at customs.

What TUTT is Doing to Adapt

We are closely communicating and monitoring the situation with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), customs brokers, and logistics partners to get clarity on how these changes will be implemented. Our team is actively working on solutions to minimize cost increases and shipping disruptions for our U.S. customers.

In the coming weeks, we will:

✅ Provide a detailed breakdown of how different product categories are affected

✅ Offer guidance on new documentation requirements for shipments

✅ Explore alternative shipping solutions to keep deliveries efficient

What’s Next?

For now, we recommend waiting before making any major pricing or ordering adjustments. We expect to receive more details from CBP soon, and we’ll update you with clear next steps next week.

If you have any questions or concerns, our TUTT support team is here to help. We understand these changes may be challenging, but we’ve always thrived on adaptability. Together, we’ll find a way forward.

Thank you for being part of the TUTT community. We appreciate your trust and support as we navigate these shifts. Stay tuned for more updates.
